Shortstop Kevin Kamer, outfielder Ty Moore, and first baseman Chris Keck all finished up productive UCLA careers and were drafted in June. Savage has brought in five guys to try to fill the void.

  • Daniel Amaral is a 5’11” right-handed outfielder from Huntington Beach. Savage praised Amaral’s athleticism and pedigree, as his father, Rich Amaral, and brother, Beau Amaral, both played baseball for UCLA.
  • Jake Hirabayashi, a 5’11” right-handed infielder from Los Angeles, was praised for his versatility and consistent hitting ability.
  • Jordan Myrow is a 5’10” right-handed outfielder out of Los Angeles, a teammate of Hirabayashi at Notre Dame HS. Savage praised his multi-tool ability and impressive potential.
  • Jake Pries, at 6’3″ out of San Juan Capistrano, is the rare beast that is a right-handed first baseman. His power and ability to hit to all fields were part of what got him drafted by the Baltimore Orioles, but he wanted to follow in his dad Jeff Pries‘ footsteps and play baseball for UCLA.
  • Dayton Provost is a 6’1″ infielder from Santa Clarita who bats left and throws right. His ability to play infield and outfield give him a chance to compete for playing time early. He, like Ralston, hails from Hart HS, a UCLA Baseball pipeline that has given the Bruins such hitters as San Francisco Giants catcher Trevor Brown, AA shortstop Pat Valaika, current Bruins 2B/3B Nick Valaika and 1B/RF Luke Persico.
