From here, you can see how vital it was for UCLA Basketball to lose out on backcourt recruits or lose them because of ineligibility issues because they are thin at the guard spot. UCLA will heavily rely on Bryce Alford, Isaac Hamilton and Aaron Holiday to control the pace of the game, but in what capacity?

Depending on how Steve Alford wants to play his game, we could see any one of these players handle the 1 spot. Chances are that we could see all three on the court at the same time.
The front court is thin, but the upside is that they are stacked with big men. Tony Parker returns as the only senior on the team. He has improved from year to year so let us hope his fourth and final is stat-packed as he starts once again at center.
Minding the net with him will be sophomores Thomas Welsh and Gyorgy Goloman. If Welsh can improve his game just a little bit, maybe get a little bit more musclier, than the Bruins can have a solid low post game on and off the bench. Goloman was a surprise in several games last year and with improvements, he will be also be called upon in back-up PF duty.
Knowing that, how would things work out if we shifted some of the talent to the backcourt, specifically Jonah Bolden?
