Last Week’s Result: L, 6-16 at Northwestern

The Cardinal were on the wrong side of the first semi-major upset of the year in week 1, thanks to an anemic offensive performance. But just how disappointing were they? Here are a few stats to consider:

  • Stanford’s six points are its fewest since scoring six at Oregon State on Oct. 27, 2007 (Jim Harbaugh’s 5th game as Stanford head coach).
  • They were able to muster only 85 rushing yards
  • They went 3/15 on 3rd downs
  • Stanford became the first ranked team to be held to zero touchdowns by Northwestern since Wisconsin in 1995

This week Stanford looks to turn things around against Central Florida. If the Cardinal lose to a team that lost 15-14 to FIU to open the season, they could be in for a long season in Palo Alto.
