Last Week’s Result: L, 17-24 vs. Portland State

I remember seeing someone play Dynasty mode on NCAA Football, and in their video game world, everyone in the Pac-12 votes to kick out Washington State, leaving the Cougars with no choice but to play in the WAC (back when the WAC still had college football). After what happened this week, I’m starting to think that the WAC, with or without football, might be a solution for Wazzu.

The Cougars paid FCS school Portland State $525,000 to come to Pullman, and still lost. In the process, they put together a 93-yard, 20-play drive that serves as a manifestation of Washington State football (or if you want an abbreviated experience, check out the plays in bold):

Next week, they play Rutgers, the reigning Fulmer Cup champions. The Scarlet Knights that haven’t been arrested were able to handle their FCS opponent, Norfolk State, last week.
