If there’s one thing we learned on the opening day of the season, it’s that the Utah Utes are not cupcakes.

It’s not easy to make cupcakes look unappetizing, but someone in Salt Lake was able to pull that off. Fortunately for the Utes, they aren’t being judged on culinary presentation in this poll, they’re being judged on their football.

It also wasn’t going to be easy to spoil Jim Harbaugh’s coaching debut at Michigan, but the Utes pulled that off as well, racking up three interceptions that night. That said, Utah State is no cupcake either. This week 2 matchup is a true test of whether or not Utah is worth the newfound hype.
