9. #16 Nebraska 30 – UCLA 36
Rose Bowl, September 8, 2012
Jim Mora’s 1st year
Who knew that UCLA was going to be this tough of a team this early in Mora’s first season? The Bruins welcomed the Nebraska Cornhuskers to the Rose Bowl for the first game of their home-and-home. The new identity of UCLA football was yet to be determined, but this game helped shape what that would be.
In a stunner, in front of a national audience, UCLA did the impossible and defeated the ranked Cornhuskers with a fantastic effort from Brett Hundely who threw for 305 yards and 4 touchdowns. It was an eye-opener for Bruin fans and college football critics alike. Mora was for real with UCLA.
