Washington: 4.5 wins, -145 over/+110 under

Source: ESPN

Washington isn’t normally expected to do this poorly, but then again, Washington’s starting quarterback doesn’t normally retire before his junior season. The chronic hip pain that caused Cyler Miles to take a voluntary leave of absence from spring practices has forced Miles to hang up his cleats for good. The former Huskies QB made the announcement on the same day the win odds were released.

There’s no shortage of intriguing coaching matchups in the early half of the schedule. Washington Head Coach Chris Petersen opens the season against the program he ran for 8 seasons until leaving for the Pacific Northwest in Boise State. The man Petersen replaced at UW, Steve Sarkisian, is now in charge of the USC team that the Huskies will face in Los Angeles in early October.

It should also be noted that Utah State is a potential trap game. The Aggies salvaged 10 wins last season despite injuries to 4 different starting quarterbacks. The dangerous Chuckie Keeton returns from an injury to his position under center as a 5th year senior.
