The UCLA football team just got a kick out of their newest commitment. J.J. Molson, the #2 kicker in according to Chris Sailor is heading to Westwood and bringing his big leg with him. Molson has had a good relationship with the Bruin coaches for a while and after UCLA offered him a scholarship yesterday, the five-star prospect decided to go with his heart.
According to Bruin Report Online, Molson said, “In my heart I was always with UCLA. It didn’t matter which school I offered. I knew in my heart I wanted to be a Bruin.”
One of the more interesting parts to this story was the fact that Molson kicked in front of Alabama and head coach Nick Saban this week. Because of this, Alabama was asking Molson to commit “almost immediately”.
Unfortunately for the Crimson Tide, Molson could not refuse an offer from UCLA.

Molson is coming from in from John Abbott College in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Quebec, Canada. Though he will be far from home, Molson has family in the LA which helped influence his decision to be a Bruin.
Molson has also been praised as a solid punter, though it is not certain that he will be taking on both duties as the UCLA football coaches are looking to get a scholarship punter in the 2016 class.
With the 2015 season being senior Bruin kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn‘s last, Molson looks to be starting as a true freshman in 2016.
Welcome to Westwood, J.J. Molson!
