BOOM! 3-Star Athlete Nathan Meadors Commits To UCLA
And the good times keep rolling for UCLA as they just landed 3-star athlete
Nathan Meadors
out of San Gorgonio High School in San Bernardino, CA. Meadors had just made his announcement on Fox Sports West choosing the Bruins over
Cal, Notre Dame
and
Boise State,
though it was presumed that he has been a UCLA lean for while.

Though Meadors is listed as an Athlete, splitting his time as a dual-threat quarterback and a defensive back, it is more than likely that he will come into fall camp as a strong safety. As Go Joe Bruin writer Michael Hanna had reported in the Defensive Big Board, Meadors stock rose during his senior year and drew heavy interest form several top programs that included Oregon and Oklahoma.
With Meadors’ commitment, UCLA now has six defensive backs heading to Westwood in the fall (four of which are 4-star prospects) joining DeChaun Holiday, Stephen Johnson III, William Lockett, Colin Samuel and Octavius Spencer. That gives the Bruin’s secondary the most commitments than any other position group.
Think about that Bruin fans, the already deep and talented Bruin defensive backs just got a lot deeper and even more talented. Is it September yet?
As for Meadors, it will be interesting to see where he ends up with the UCLA defense. Though he does not have a large body (6’1″, 194 lbs.), he is very fast and has some incredible break-away speed. Not only can he track down the opposition while on defense, he is also very elusive in close quarters. There is no doubt that he will have to bulk up a bit to play in defensive coordinator Jeff Ubrich‘s defense, but there is a chance that he could see time on the field sooner than later with the UCLA DC dedicated to the 5 defensive back nickel defense.
Welcome to Westwood, Nathan!
