ESPNU To Televise A Massive Signing Day Special, Will Broadcast Locally At USC
Today, EPSNU released the platform for their 2015 Signing Day Special. The sports conglomerate is going all out this year, again, to televise one of the biggest events in college football, outside of an actually football game. Locally, ESPN will be covering Signing Day from USC. Last year they covered Signing Day form UCLA, but had to change the venue because the football program and campus was too awesome.

An alternative view, is that UCLA did not have the “pow” ESPN was hoping for in their signing day which and decided to go east to USC, as they look to have a big NSD. Currently, ESPN ranks USC #6 in their class rankings while UCLA is #19. Still, no one remembers who “won” recruiting day, they just remember how much better you did than your rival at the end of the year. Still, you cannot blame ESPN as they will be having a lot of coverage that will span nearly half the day.
To start, ESPNU will have 11 hours of coverage starting at 5 a.m. PT, with several sources covering signing day through various outlets. Along with broadcasts on the SEC Network, Texas‘ Longhorn Network and several ESPN stations, they will be delivering up-to-the minute information via Sports Center and their 14 reporters stationed at universities around the country. Here is the list of schools with assigned reporter:
Alabama – Kaylee Harting, Auburn – Ryan McGee, Clemson – Jeanine Edwards, Florida – Rutledge, Florida State – Marty Smith, LSU – Niki Noto, Michigan – Pedro Gomez, Notre Dame – Paul Caraterra, Ohio State – Quint Kessenich, Penn State – Brit McHenry, Southern Cal – Holly Rowe, Yennessee – Tony Barnhart, Texas – Jane Slater, Texas A&M – Kayce Smith
In addition, per espnmediazone.com, at least 15 recruits will be making their announcements on the Signing Day Special.
