Today, January, 5, 2015, we can finally say that the future has officially become the present at UCLA: the top quarterback recruit in the country and probably the best quarterback recruit from the state of California in the last decade, Josh Rosen (Manhattan Beach, CA/St. John Bosco), has begun classes at UCLA and is thus officially a Bruin!

As mentioned before, Rosen is the consensus top quarterback recruit in the country, with Rivals.com also counting Rosen as its #1 overall recruit in the country regardless of position. Yes, Rivals thinks Rosen is the best football recruit in the country, and justifiably so given what we’ve seen of Rosen so far from his time at St. John Bosco High School.

At Bosco, Rosen went undefeated in two seasons playing in the Trinity League, which is considered the most brutal league in California high school football. In addition to two Trinity League titles, Rosen also led Bosco to a Pac-5 title, a state title, and a national championship. In his time at Bosco, Rosen amassed some eye-popping statistics: 8,473 passing yards, 90 passing touchdowns to only 20 interceptions, 1,139 rushing yards, and 14 rushing touchdowns.

Our preview of the 2015 quarterback depth chart will be posted shortly and we will discuss the potential impact of Rosen’s presence on the roster in detail there, but in the meantime, treat yourself to our in-depth analysis of what makes Rosen special and rejoice in the arrival of The Rosen One at UCLA.

Welcome to Westwood, Josh!
