UCLA Basketball (secretly) had another practice run for their up-coming season which starts on Friday against Montana State. UCLA hosted UNLV in a closed scrimmage (that is more like a secret scrimmage with the way the information is being handled) at Pauley Pavilion on Saturday. Due to NCAA rules, no fans or media were allowed and both coaches and teams are restricted from talking about specifics, but apparently, the Bruins routed the Runnin’ Rebels 101-60.
Secret Hoops Scrimmage: UCLA 101, UNLV 60. N. Powell 31 pts (4 for 4 on 3s); K. Looney 17/11; B. Alford 21 pts, 7 assists, 6 threes.

That, my friends, is very promising. But as there is no solid information about the scrimmage available, and with the majority of the news outlets being from Las Vegas, we will let you come to your own conclusion about the secret scrimmage.

Normal Powell dropped 31 in UCLA's scrimmage win over UNLV. How about Bryce Alford? Went for 21 with 6 triples, 7 assists & 4 steals.

Yup. UCLA won by 40 RT @jeffborzello: Heard UCLA handled UNLV in secret scrimmage today. Rebels couldn't handle Parker & Looney up front.

UCLA murdered UNLV on the boards 49-28. That'll happen when you miss a lot and they don't. #UNLVmbb

Powell put up 31 against #UNLV and #UCLA won by 41 in closed scrimmage...told you #Bruins would be better than most think this yr. #Pac12

UCLA killed UNLV in the post. That is the Rebels weakness. Not a shocker. That's where we miss Birch

It is unknown how these bits of information were obtained, but it is good to know that the Bruins had a fantastic outing, if it did indeed occur.
As stated before, the Bruins open their season on Friday and will be televised on the Pac-12 Network with a 9 p.m. PT tip-off.
