9. Ryan Hollins

Ryan Hollins was the Oakland Region’s Most Outstanding Player of the 2004 NCAA Tournament. Part of that was due to the incredible senior season he had under the defensive tutelage of former coach Ben Howland. He was a skinny center for the Bruins, but his defense was relentless. He was also a very scary guy to have in your face and often he would get in the face of his opponents to prove that.

That grit had given him a chance for redemption in his senior year as he helped the Bruins to their first Final Four in 20 years. Hollins has bounced around the NBA since leaving UCLA and is currently playing for the Sacramento Kings.
