2. Stanford

UC Davis was by nobody’s standard a tough opponent to open against, but shutting out any team is an impressive feat. The Cardinal won 45-0, keeping the Aggies not just out of, but far from the end zone. On behalf of their two interceptions and a fumble recovery, Stanford held the helpless UC Davis offense to just six first downs and 115 total yards. Overpowered and outmatched, UC Davis had lost this game at kickoff; it didn’t help that they only converted on less than 8% of their third downs (1/13).
