This Ice Bucket Challenge is taking on a life of its own… and a challenge has been thrown down in Westwood. The Ice Bucket Challenge that benefits ALS Research recently made an appearance in front of Royce Hall with head basketball coach Steve Alford taking the challenge. Alford was nominated by “first place” Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly and thusly, took the cold shower.
He then extended the challenge to the three recent Bruin NBA draft picks, Jordan Adams, Kyle Anderson and Zach LaVine. No information has been revealed by any of these parties about accepting the challenge, but we will keep you updated on these events as they become available.

Alford is also becoming a formidable man-about-town as he made an appearance at Dodger Stadium to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game between the Dodgers and the San Diego Padres. The Dodgers wrecked the San Diego Padres, 8-6. As for Alford, he also got to schmooze with some of the players and Mr. Mattingly, himself.
He can hit a 3-pointer but can Coach Alford throw a strike?! Thanks to the @Dodgers, we'll find out at 7pm. pic.twitter.com/TliMIlYjuw

He might now have to drop the ceremonial face-off at a Los Angeles Kings game, but that is just an idea. In fact, him and Jim Mora should drop the puck at a Kings game. Still, just an idea.
