As Red Leader says in Star Wars: A New Hope, “Almost there.” Day 10 of UCLA fall camp has finished and leaves only one day left in San Bernardino, which will consist of a scrimmage and a fan appreciation event. Just one more day until the Bruins head back to Westwood. Not that they have been waiting to leave San Bernardino, it is that it has been quite brutal… and they have been waiting to leave San Bernardino.
The Bruins got the day off on Thursday to rest and relax. It was a much needed affair that gave the players one day to catch their breathe before they finish strong in the desert.
UCLA was dragging recently and desperately needed a day off, so Jim Mora called a pool day today. Only two days of practice left in SB.

The day off must have really helped players recover from injuries because several Bruins should be back by the time they get to Westwood.
Jim Mora said #UCLA WR Devin Lucien passed concussion tests today and might be back as soon as Monday.

UCLA just wrapped it's second to last practice of San Bernadino. Biggest takeaway: no (new) injuries.

In football, it is all about getting every inch of the game squared away. Special teams were up today.
Mostly special teams work today. Team will be in pads tonight and go through a "mock game" tomorrow for final day in San Bernadino.

Camp has been long enough that we reached the point when we ask if there's a punter battle brewing. For the record, Mora says there is.

Coach Jeff Ulbrich raps about the defense… and how awesome they are.
#UCLA DC Jeff Ulbrich on linebacker Myles Jack tonight: "Myles is like the biggest prick on the field. Which is awesome."

LB Kenny Young ran with 1s along with Aaron Wallace. Probably the favorites at this point for open LB spots at this point.

Final Notes
#UCLA LB Kenny Young buried Steven Manfro during pass-blocking drill. He ran with Nate Starks, batting pass away @uclafootball #pac12

#UCLA OL commit Tevita Halalilo attended practice tonight in San Bernardino.

WR Mossi Johnson also had his best practice. Had struggled recently but strong today. No drops that I can remember. Reminded me of spring.

If you are going to the desert for the final practice at Cal State San Bernardino, keep in mind it will be 100 degrees. Go Bruins!
