Offensive Line, 6’5″, 310 lbs., Sophomore

You do not see a lot of offensive linemen associated with “star”, but this massive human-shaped mountain has size, skill and reach to hold down the line. Benenoch played most of last season on the right side, taking snaps at both guard and tackle as a true freshman. With injuries hitting the Bruin big men, Benenoch was thrown into the fire, so to speak. Although he missed the first three games, he finally saw action against Utah and started the next week against Cal and every game to end the season.

In Spring Practice, Benenoch showed that he was more than willing to contribute to the line and was entrusted with the all important blindside. Not only is he going to need to hold down his part of the line, but take care of the side quarterback Brett Hundley will have to his back to… that is a big responsibility. This is a lot to put on a true sophomore, but after the SunBowl victory in late December, Benenoch put in some major time at the gym and it shows, literally. Take a look at this picture of him during Spring Practice. Those are some massive arms right there!
