Happy Freakin’ Birthday, America! What are you you, 238 years old? You look damn good! And why not? You are a young upstart! Let’s say, you are the
Myles Jackof world countries… powerful, but not yet reached potential. America, you are the ‘Land of the Free’ and the ‘Home of the Brave’. You created everything caffeinated from Starbucks to La Mill Coffee on Silverlake Blvd. in Silverlake, CA. You also made
Star Wars, Gone With The Wind
and
Army of Darkness
, three of the best movies of all time, EVER!!! And if that is not enough, you created things like
Oprah
, monster trucks and
UCLA
football… you are UNSTOPPABLE!!! That’s raw American power right there!
If you do not know by now, America rocks! Even though we go through tough times, we find ways to persevere. We landed on the moon, for Pete’s sake! …AND created
West Side Story
.
Arthur Laurents
and
Leonard Berstein
created a piece derivative of the times that many of us struggle through, but ultimately, they knew what’s up!
Look, we all make mistakes and the USA is not exempt from that. Even
Hulk Hogan
had a dark period as “Hollywood Hogan”, but in the end, he was still the Hulkster who fights for what is right! Take it away unknown 80’s rocker guy whose name no one ever learned, but everyone knows the words to his song…
This country is made up from people from around the globe, kind of like UCLA, but let us stay focused on the birthday country. People come from near and far to see what we have in store, basically because we have so many options: California, the Pacific Northwest, Vegas, Colorado, Chicago, Florida, DC, New York and New England. There is even stuff in between! …If you are into that. The point is, America has options and just like
Brett Hundley, who can take you very far in his up-tempo offense, America continues to thrive! If you do not believe me, open your ears to Mr.
Neil Diamond
…
But seriously, there is beauty in loving your country or at the very least, your neighborhood. Whether you were raised here or you are a transplant, your community has a hand in molding your very existence. There are places to be explored and parts of the country to be consumed… that is what America is about, finding the unknown and discovering what you like. Go get ’em, America!
But before we go, we want to wish you all a Happy Fourth of July! Like most holidays, it tends to bring us close to the ones we hold dear. We swim, we barbecue, we hang out with friends and family, we set off fireworks and we also love. In the end, isn’t that what it is all about? Love for others, love for family, love for friends, love for country and love for life. Not necessarily the Iggy Pop kind, but more the Princess Leia kind. Are we right?
Anyway, we would like to leave you with something from Mr.
Ray Charles
. His gift to you, America. Happy Fourth of July, everybody!
