Bruin To Brazil: Former UCLA Soccer Player Nick Rimando Heads To The World Cup

If you have not heard by now, it is almost time for the World Cup! And of you were not already invested in it, here is one reason to start following along: former Bruin and current member of Real Salt Lake of Major League Soccer, Nick Rimando will be aiding the United States Men’s National Team. on their journey to Brazil for the 2014 World Cup. That is right, just like most things in life, a Bruin is heading to the big stage, this time it is in world futbol’s/soccer’s biggest event.

Rimando is one of three goalkeepers the USMNT will be taking to Brazil. Brad Guzan of Aston Villa and likely starer Tim Howard of Everton will all being trying to help the US battle for the most coveted trophy in all of sports (next to the Stanley Cup)! The World Cup begins Thursday when host country Brazil takes on Croatia. As for the United States, they have their first match Monday, June 16 when they take on Ghana at 3 p.m. PT.
