The UCLA Football program keeps on trucking as they received their eighth four-star commitment (fifteenth commitment overall for 2014) from Jacob Tuioti-Mariner out of St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, CA. He is the second Bosco commit after four-star safety Jaleel Wadood committed to the Bruins a few weeks ago. Tuioti-Mariner is a 6’4”, 265 defensive end who is ranked 25th at his position (per Scout.com).
Tuioti-Mariner is the second defensive lineman to give his nod to head coach Jim Mora and assistant Adrian Klemm (who was the main recruiter to Tuioti-Mariner). A few weeks ago, UCLA received a commitment from Lompoc four-star defensive tackle, Aniuu Taua.
What this commitment does is thicken up an already stacked defensive line that will only lose madman and all-around bad-ass, Cassius Marsh, to graduation. Bad news, but having Marsh in the NFL just makes what ever team that picks him up very dangerous. Although, the Bruins do have some good news as they will return senior D-lineman, Owamagbe Odighizuwa, who did not play this year due to a hip injury.
With the Bruins able to get so many good recruits, it is almost unfathomable to see who the Bruins can snare on February 5…National Signing Day!
Now if Tuioti-Mariner and Wadood can help the Bruins get another Bosco player, Damien Mama, who is heard to be leaning toward playing for Steve Sarkisian at USC, then not only would UCLA have really beefed up their 2014 recruiting class, but a clear pipeline would be connected with Bosco. You can thank the #BruinRevolution for that one.
