The UCLA Bruins received their seventh commitment from  four-star rated recruit, Zach Whiteley. Out of Galena Park, Texas, Whiteley is the #6 ranked linebacker in the nation (per Scout.com) who shocked college football yesterday, when he not only committed to the Bruins, but also flipped from his previous commitment to Alabama.

It looks like Nick Saban is having a bad week.

Still, the 6’2”, 220 lbs. defenseman adds to, recently dubbed, “Linebacker U” and will help fill the void that will be left by graduating seniors, Anthony Barr and Jordan Zumwalt. This is a tremendous get for UCLA, as it takes the Bruins one step further in their #BruinRevolution.

We saw last signing day that head coach Jim Mora and Company could pull down a few big recruits. A few four and five star commits are all you need to start a revolution, but what Mora’s coaching staff did here was shake up the game. The biggest name in college football has been pickpocketed. By, UCLA. Repeat that to yourself, because it is real.

A former four-star himself, UCLA offensive lineman Caleb Benenoch, expressed his views on the recent commitment.

With this commitment, UCLA moves up to the 33rd position amongst the top recruiting classes. The Bruins still have signing day, which could see a few more top recruits head toward Westwood and lead them further up the rankings (per Scout.com).
