UCLA Football Recruiting: QB Eddie Printz Decommits From Bruins

Welp, here’s a shocker: 2013 QB Eddie Printz has decommitted from UCLA. Printz was a three-start quarterback in Georgia, meaning the original Georgian commits of 2013 — he and RB Keyante Green — no longer have plans to head west.
The story was first broken by one of our favorite beat writers, Edward Lewis:
It’s shocking news considering Printz was rumored to have done outstandingly this past Friday, putting up ridiculous video game numbers.
Of course, the most important thing to note is that Jim Mora’s staff usually follows up decommitments with even better commitments see: Keyante Green decommitting and four-star RB Craig Lee committing soon after). Printz was just a three-star QB, so it wasn’t as if he was entirely highly-touted, so the staff might just want to avoid going over the scholarship limit.
What’s just as important, though, is that UCLA is pretty filled at the QB position after Richard Brehaut and Kevin Prince leave, leaving a huge logjam at QB which will result in transfers left and right. Brett Hundley’s got this team covered for four years, while Jerry Neuheisel, T.J. Millweard and Devin Fuller — all freshman, although Neuheisel is a redshirt freshman — will be vying for the second spot on the QB depth chart.
We’ll see what happens, and as always with any decommitments, let’s see where this thing ends up.
UPDATE:
Jacob Ruffman of the Daily Bruin had this to say:
There you have it. Coach Mora’s on to something.
GO BRUINS!!!
