If you forgot, UCLA football successfully landed the commitment of Justin Combs, son of hip hop superstar Sean “P. Diddy” Combs.
And on Saturday was Justin Combs’ first game at the Rose Bowl as a true freshman (although he’s redshirting).
P. Diddy was clearly a proud-ass father, as evidenced in this video (h/t: The Bruin Den):
That’s P. Diddy being super freaking happy about seeing his son at UCLA. He was so happy, that he had to repeat back to himself those four letters, “UCLA” as if it was a surreal.
Of course, this is great to see from any father, it’s not special just because Sean Combs makes more money than all the people reading this combined. Diddy clearly is ecstatic to see his kid dressed in Bruin Blue and Gold, we’re proud to see someone become an advocate of the university because of it.
It’s also fair to note that Diddy made it a point to let the people watching know that his son was recruited organically and that he never intervened via promoting him, saying constantly “he did it on his own, I didn’t make one call for my son.”
We’re glad to hear that Combs was recruited because of his talents and not his pops, and we’re even happier that Diddy is just glowing.
This is what Saturdays should be all about, kids.
GO BRUINS!!
