UCLA Football Recruiting: Looking At Heavy UCLA Lean, OL Christian Morris

facebooktwitterreddit

With 4-star offensive tackle Nico Falah committing to South Cal, the Bruins have another offensive lineman on deck that is considered by many to be a UCLA commit.

That offensive lineman is four-star (according to Scout) Christian Morris out of Memphis, TN (more Southern recruits, guys).

Here’s a video interview:

This is the upteenth recruit to rave on about UCLA’s coaching staff, mainly the staff’s cohesion and ability to come off as a family. Clearly, UCLA has one of the best recruiting staffs out there, and it’s worth noting that Nico Falah considered UCLA in the first place because of Jim Mora and Adrian Klemm.

What do the scouting reports say about Morris, though? He’s apparently talented as hell, and in that respect, size-wise, he has all the talent in the world. The dude is a whopping 6’6” and weighs in at 290 pounds (OH MY), which is crucial for any offensive linemen.

Of course, one of the gripes that reports have about Morris is that he’s incredibly raw and needs to work on technique, a familiar gripe since he is just a kid coming out of high school after all.

That said, scouts love the dude’s upside at the BCS (or NCS, or whatever they want to call it) level and think, with a year of red-shirting, he’ll be ridiculously serviceable.

Plus, Morris comes out of SEC country — much like our other recruits — so it’s likely that he’ll be incredibly dedicated to his craft.

We’ll see what happens. Morris is much more than just consolation for “losing” Falah to South Cal.

GO BRUINS!!!
