UCLA Baseball: Bruins Draw Cinderella Stony Brook in College World Series

UCLA baseball has been on a tear in this NCAA baseball tournament, and the powerhouse that will be will face the Cinderella that is in Stony Brook, a little-known university that majorly-upset LSU in the NCAA Super Regionals.

Stony Brook, a college in New York, is 52-13 on the season, so it isn’t as if this is a late-season surge. Rather, they just haven’t had competition until now, and with UCLA playing at as high a level as it has, things are going to get a helluva lot more interesting.

I can’t break down this game for you, but I can tell you that UCLA is going to need to play better than what it did against TCU. The pitching staff did a solid job of limiting TCU to three runs scored over the two games, and David Berg proved to be a beast in that series.

Stony Brook? They were the fourth seed in their respective regional bracket, and managed to escape three out of their four wins in narrow games, while dropping their first to LSU and winning the final two.

The last time UCLA was here, the Bruins had their hearts crushed by USC (the real one) in the championship finals.

Hopefully, narratives don’t win out, and UCLA isn’t sent back home to LA so soon.

GO BRUINS!!!
