Next week we find out what the order of the NBA Draft lottery will be and are one step closer to knowing who takes Lonzo Ball… and his father LaVar.

On Tuesday, the NBA will carry out their annual NBA Draft lottery selections which will give NBA fans a better feel of what the Draft will look like. That also means that we are one step closer to finding out where former UCLA Basketball standout Lonzo Ball will play pro ball.

That also means we will find out what team will have the honor of being annoyed by Lonzo’s father, LaVar.

That is right fans that have NBA teams in the lottery, which ever one of your teams draft Lonzo, means you also get LaVar. Whether you like it or not.

For those of you outside of Los Angeles that have only heard of LaVar by way of whatever sports broadcasting company that first has him on then complains about him later, you don’t exactly know the big picture.

With UCLA being his most recent stop in his own “LaVar is Great” world tour, you might not know that he was a very polarizing figure within his own fan base. Well let’s be more accurate, his son’s team’s fan base.

LaVar has not done much of anything other than promote his own Big Ball Brand, so good luck getting him to wear your team’s apparel or support them in any way.

UCLA had its first really good season in a while with freshman Ball leading the way. The humble son just went out and played basketball and brought greatness back to Westwood. It was fantastic.

Unfortunately, with that came the unrelenting, outlandish comments from the megaphone that is LaVar Ball‘s mouth. UCLA Basketball fans were in the midst of a really good season but often distracted by the rants of a man who makes guarantees his son cannot back up.

So to which ever NBA team drafts his son, congratulations, you got the loudest, most annoying cheerleader you did not ask for in LaVar.

At the beginning of last season, he guaranteed that UCLA will win an NCAA Championship. When they didn’t, and they lost to Kentucky in the Sweet 16, LaVar blamed the Bruins’ “white guys“. So get used to him blaming all the players on your team if things do not go well.

You see, in LaVar’s eyes, he’s never wrong (he’s the Donald Trump of helicopter parents). So to which ever NBA team drafts his son, congratulations, you got the loudest, most annoying cheerleader you did not ask for in LaVar.

That’s unfortunate too, because not only does he continue to put a target on his son’s back, LaVar will most likely mar Lonzo’s career to some degree because Lavar simply cannot shut up. Good luck with that, NBA Executives. Choose wisely.

So with that being said, whatever team is looking at Lonzo Ball, they have to look at LaVar as well. Is the star potential worth the bad publicity?
