Former UCLA Basketball player Russell Westbrook just completed an epic NBA season in which he broke several triple-double records.

One of the greatest individual seasons by an NBA player has just finished as Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder just lost game five in the first round of the NBA playoffs as they were taken down by the Houston Rockets.

Though Westbrook will not be moving on, his accomplishments this season will forever be engrained in NBA history.

This past 2016 -17 season, Westbrook broke several triple double records which included the most triple-doubles in a season with 42. The previous holder of that record was Oscar Robertson, who had 41 during the 1961-62 season.

Not bad for a kid from Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, California who then went on to be a star at UCLA under Ben Howland.

In addition to his single-season record for triple doubles, he also had the most points in a triple-double (57), was the only player with three 50-point triple-doubles and was also the quickest player to get to 50 points with a triple double in an NBA playoff game.

Westbrook put the team on his back after a former teammate Kevin Durant bolted for the Golden State Warriors. Since then, Oklahoma City has been Westbrook’s town and he has given them a show.

Westbrook has definitely had an MVP-worthy season and rightly so. He has done almost everything a single player can for one team. He finish the season 31.6 points per game, 10.7 rebounds and 10.4 assists to average a triple-double for the season. Nice.
