The UCLA Women’s Basketball team have taken the first step to winning the Pac-12 Tournament Championship as they took down Arizona State.

The UCLA Women’s Basketball team had just wrestled with Arizona State last week as the Sun Devils gave the Bruins a fight, though came up short. In UCLA’s first game of the 2017 Women’s Pac-12 Tournament, the Bruins had a slightly easier time.

UCLA just defeated ASU for the third time this season in a 77-68 victory and it was beautiful. The Bruins used a huge first quarter to set the tone for what can simply be described as a beating. UCLA was not messing around this time as they jumped out to a huge 26-7 lead just after one quarter.

Nicole Kornet helped the Bruins to dominate the first half as she scored 12. Kornet finished the game with 16 total points.

Monique Billings added to the onslaught with her 18th double-double of the year as she had 19 points and 11 rebounds. Pac-12 Honorable Mention Kennedy Burke also got into the scoring column in a big way as she added 19 of her own.

And let us not forget Jordin Canada who once again led her team to victory with another all-around game that had her finish with 24 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals.
