In episode 124 of the ‘What’s Bruin Show’, we take a look at UCLA Basketball after their destruction of Troy, their status heading into the post-season and, um, Laker talk?

In the latest episode, hosts Bill Shirley, Jake Merrifield and I welcome guest host Jamaal Artis (of LA Sports Hub) who joins us to talk about the UCLA Basketball team and their recent uprising.

As you may know, the Bruins are on a different plane after losses to Arizona and USC. Since then they are on a 5-game win streak which included wins over Oregon and the Trojans and are now the #5 team in the nation.

So what does that mean for the Bruins as this regular season winds down? What are the chances of the Bruins winning the Pac-12? Where will UCLA Basketball get seeded in the NCAA Tournament? We get into all of that.

We also re-examine UCLA Football‘s hiring of Jedd Fisch as the newest Offensive Coordinator. With Fisch being a finalist on Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban’s short list to hire his own OC (he hired someone other than Fisch), we are convinced his hiring at UCLA is a good thing. If the best coach in college football is trying to pull away UCLA’s newest guy, then this seems like a good sign.

We then finish up with something a bit off-topic as we discuss the Los Angeles Lakers and their latest coup which brought in Magic Johnson and saw Jim Buss and Mitch Kupchick be stripped of their positions with the organization.
