This summer, The Rose Bowl, home of the UCLA Bruins football team, will host football of another sort as English and European powerhouse Manchester United will take on four-time MLS champions LA Galaxy on Wednesday, July 23 for a friendly. Man U, one of the most famous football clubs in the world, make their first stop in Pasadena, California on a four-game preseason U.S. tour that includes visits to Denver, CO, Landover, MD and Ann Arbor, MI.

The Rose Bowl is no stranger to hosting international football matchs (or as they say in America, a soccer game). The “Grandaddy Of Them All” has been the scene for the final game for both a Women’s and Men’s World Cup. In 2010, the famed stadium hosted the LA Galaxy as they took on spanish giants Real Madrid. Most recently, in 2012, the Rose Bowl was the location for the CONCACAF Gold Cup between the USA and Mexico.

Manchester United is a team in transition. They will look to rebuild in the coming months after the recent sacking of former manager David Moyes, the successor to legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson. In addition to being in the running for some key players during the off-season, Man U will also be looking for a suitable replacement for Moyes.

The LA Galaxy are also rebuilding as they have recently had a dip in production since international superstar David Beckham left the club after their 2012 Championship.
