So it looks like UCLA Basketball Head Coach Steve Alford is making a statement off the court as he is on the court as the Bruins received a commitment from the #2 ranked point guard in the nation, Aaron Hoilday. UCLA received their first commitment for the 2015 season with Holiday’s pledge to play for the Bruins.

Holiday is a 6’0″, 175 lbs. 4-star high school junior out of Campbell Hall in North Hollywood.

He is the younger brother to former Bruin and current New Orleans Pelican Jrue Holiday. He also has a sister, Lauren Holiday, who plays basketball for the UCLA women’s team.

Alford had to re-recruit, if you will, the Holiday family after Jrue left after one year under the Ben Howland regime. Good on Alford. This shows that he is doing what he can to get UCLA back to where the need to be.

This is the sixth overall commitment Alford has gotten that is spread over the next three recruiting classes. Next year the Bruins have power forwards Kevon Looney and Jonah Bolden and centers Thomas Welsh and Gyorgy Goloman coming to Westwood. In 2015 they get Holiday and in 2016 they get another point guard, Lonzo Ball.

The Bruins also get shooting guard Isaac Hamilton next year as he is redshirting this season after transferring.

If you thought this season was action packed, just hold on to your seats Bruin fans, it’s about to go off!
