Odds: UCLA -11.5

Preview: UCLA is on a tear as this is the first time in UCLA history that a head coach went 7-0 in their first season, congratulations to Steve Alford. The Bruins are averaging 90.9 points per game, fifth in the country. Lead by super sophomores Jordan Adams and Kyle Anderson, the Bruins are showing that they have as explosive an offense as any one in the nation. Adams is leading the team in points with 21.4 while Anderson is cashing on 9.7 rebounds per game.

The Bruins are also getting some high-flying action from junior Norman Powell and freshman Zach LaVine. Both have been displaying their offensive attack in the form of in-game slam dunk contests. Powell, who was not given much of a chance in his last two seasons in Westwood, is averaging 12.1 points while the young upstart LaVine is getting 14.3.

As for the Gauchos, despite their 3-2 record, they are playing some good ball of their own. With wins against Hawaii Pacific, UNLV and South Dakota State, the Gauchos have won convincingly against each opponent. They are averaging 75.4 points a game and have a .503 shooting average. They recently ran into Pac-12 up-and-comer Colorado, but fell short, 76-68. UCSB managed keep the game close against Colorado as the Buffs have more or less been annihilating most of their opponents. In all, this should be a good game for both UC schools going forward.

Prediction: UCSB 68 – UCLA 97
