After a bye week, UCLA will hop back onto the field, this time in Lincoln, NE, as the Bruins take on the 23rd-ranked Cornhuskers of Nebraska.

It’ll be a tough game, and even better? It’s at 9 a.m. … Grab yo coffee, kids.

Here are some important pieces of info for you as you take in the game:

Start Time: 9:00 a.m. PDT

Betting Odds: Nebraska (-4)

Live Stream: None (on ABC)

The Skinny

The UCLA Bruins (1-0) enter with the 16th spot in the AP poll, the highest of the Jim Mora era and the highest UCLA has been ranked since 2005 when the Bruins went 10-2 under Karl Dorrell. Much of UCLA’s trajectory has been shaped by a 36-30 Bruin win over Nebraska in 2012, and the Bruins will look to take a huge step forward with a win here.

For Nebraska, this game, and this season, means the world to head coach Bo Pelini, who many believe is on the hot seat. Pelini has not taken Nebraska to the heights that fans expect of a blueblood program and last season, the loss to UCLA rubbed many Husker fans the wrong way.

The Prediction

Although we’re only two weeks into the college football season, UCLA does look markedly better than Nebraska does. While the Huskers blasted Southern Mississippi for the second year in a row, their first tilt with Wyoming was unimpressive, with Nebraska squeaking by.

UCLA, on the other hand, took total control of the Nevada Wolf Pack in the season-opener, a program that’s considered to be one of the more respected mid-majors in the country. Of course, the Wolf Pack are without famed head coach Chris Ault, which diminishes UCLA’s win this year.

Thus, this is a difficult game to predict. Your friendly blogger predicts UCLA beats the Huskers 45-41 and move up into the top-15 of the AP poll.
