UCLA Basketball: Hey Tony Parker, come to UCLA

facebooktwitterreddit

Shabazz Muhammad has signed his Letter of Intent to UCLA. He’s officially a Bruin, and UCLA fans are friggin’ estatic.

But as some person — whom I cannot remember — used to say, “We ain’t done yet.”

Tony Parker, the 27th-ranked recruit overall, and the sixth-best center (according to Rivals), is still undecided, and UCLA is on his radar.

Parker, if you recall, has quite the big list, though. Dude’s considering Duke, Georgetown, Connecticut, Kentucky, Memphis, Ohio State, and MiraCosta College in Oceanside.

(OK, so maybe not the last one, but might as well since he’s yet to even trim his list.)

Of course, our boy ‘Bazz is recruiting Parker pretty hard, and expect another five-star’er, Kyle Anderson, to join in. Why should he come to UCLA? Because of the kids who are vouching for our Bruins.

As of now, we have three top-40 recruits, with two being in the top-five in Kyle Anderson (lengthy-as-hell point forward) and Shabazz Muhammad (scoring machine). The other is Jordan Adams, a four-star recruit. Nabbing another top-30 recruit would be pretty ridiculous, and I’d doubt we wouldn’t reign in the top recruiting class in the nation after such a commitment. (Currently, we’re No. 3, behind Kentucky and Arizona.)

Parker has some serious incentive to join UCLA. Not only will he be working hard under coach Ben Howland, but the dude will also be joining the 2012 recruiting class and a roster that includes Josh Smith (an unstoppable force when he wants to be) and the Wear Twins, to go along with Larry Drew III (a transfer from UNC) and Norman Powell.

Overall, we’ll be a pretty beastly squad, especially if our boy T-Parkz joins along for the ride.

Sign the damn LOI, Tony. You know you want to.
