Welcome to the fourth iteration of this year’s Go Joe Bruin Bracketology. All projections are made by compiling data and using a formula to convert all of these numbers into a final score for each team.

It’s been ten days since my last update, and a lot has happened in that time. You may recall that last time around I did a lot of complaining about how the bubble teams–five of them in particular–were underwhelming and none one deserved to get in. Yeah, so about that…

Kansas State – Defeated then #1 Oklahoma by double digits

Texas Tech – Upset #14 Iowa State in overtime

Vanderbilt – Stunned then #8 Texas A&M with a 17-point victory

Butler – Won back-to-back road games

George Washington – Won on the road to snap VCU‘s 12-game win streak

Despite this, only one of those five teams is in this week’s projected field of 68, thanks to the formula’s shocking, yet justified decision to allow a controversial bubble-burster into the Big Dance. Now it’s really getting fun. The pressure is on, and we’re quickly finding out who can survive and who is crumbling.

Speaking of crumbling teams, UCLA has lost four of its last five games, which means, yes, Stony Brook is ranked above the Bruins by the formula, and rightfully so. The question now is, how much ground do the boys in blue have to make up?
