JANUARY
Pac-12 Conference Play Begins
-Jan 1 at Washington – W, 10-4, 1-0
-Jan 3 at Washington State – L, 10-5, 1-1
The Bruins start the conference season on the road. Now, the Bruins have not been spectacular away from Pauley, but the Washington schools are not that good. With that being said, a Steve Alford team tends to drop a game they should not and unfortunately, Washington State is a team others overlook. Plus, UCLA is yet to get a road sweep in the Alford era.
-Jan 7 vs Arizona – L, 10-6, 1-2
-Jan 9 vs Arizona State – W, 11-6, 2-2
Finally, UCLA and Arizona play each other twice a year in the conference season. The only downside is that Arizona is still a cut above UCLA. The Wildcats are still the pinnacle of Pac-12 basketball right now and will be looking to continue that dominance this season, especially against their biggest Pac-12 rival.
-Jan 13 vs USC – W, 12-6, 3-2
It is USC.
-Jan 20 at Oregon State – L, 12-7, 3-3
-Jan 23 at Oregon – L, 12-8, 3-4
The Bruins will try to get a road sweep, but it will not happen this time as the Bruins will have trouble handling their trip north to Oregon.
-Jan 28 vs Washington – W, 13-8, 4-4
-Jan 30 vs Washington State – W, 14-8, 5-4
Against the Washington schools at home should be no contest for UCLA.
