Wednesday, November 14 is the first day of the early signing period and the UCLA basketball team has added three players from their 2019 recruiting class.

Today is the first day high school recruits can sign with their prospective college choices as the early signing period has begun. For the UCLA basketball team, that means welcoming three new players to the program.

The Bruins now officially have 4-star small forward Jaime Jaquez (Adolfo Camarillo/Camarillo, CA), 3-star combo guard Grant Sherfield (Sunrise Christian/Witchita, KS), and 3-star small forward Jake Kyman (Santa Margarita/Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) joining the team. Welcome, Bruins!

This class, so far, is the 25th ranked class in the nation and 4th in the Pac-12 according to 247Sports.com. Jaquez headlines the class as a multi-faceted big man that can play on the wing. Not only can he grab rebounds underneath, but has a killer outside shot.

Sherfield is a player that can back the point or create havoc on the perimeter. He has great vision, great ball control, and a solid outside shot. Kyman is another big man that has no problem taking the ball down court, but his skill comes from his shooting prowess.

Though it is not as highly ranked as previous seasons, this recruiting class has a lot of firepower and will continue to help the Bruins be contenders in upcoming seasons.

The one caveat about this class is that it puts the Bruins over the 13 scholarship limit with 16 for 2019. This season, UCLA has 13 players on its roster with no seniors. That means three players have to leave (or are expected to) after the current season is over.

That problem should be remedied in March/April 2019, but for now, we are glad to have these newest Bruins joining the program. Welcome to Westwood!
