With so many talented players on the roster, Go Joe Bruin takes a look at several potential lineups the UCLA basketball team could use this coming season.

The UCLA basketball team might have one of the deepest squads in the Steve Alford era and because of that, he has a near-infinite amount lineups to choose from. We look at a few that we could see in 2018-19.

There are so many combinations that head coach Steve Alford could use and they could all potentially be very promising, but Go Joe Bruin specifically looks at eight which might maximize their efforts on the court this coming season.

The Starting Lineup

  • PG: Jaylen Hands
  • SG: Jules Bernard
  • SF: Kris Wilkes
  • PF: Cody Riley
  • C: Moses Brown

The best five players should be on the court together for as much time as possible. The only problem is, who are the best five? UCLA has a lot of talent on this squad and should be able to take on the majority of lineups they face. But if we want the best five that also have experience, the above lineup could be the best choice. Hands and Wilkes will carry this team as well as this lineup, but a few of the young guys will really boost their production.

The Big Lineup

  • PG: Jaylen Hands
  • SG: Kris Wilkes
  • SF: Cody Riley
  • PF: Jalen Hill
  • C: Moses Brown

The Bruins are going to be big. They have several big men on the roster and they should not be afraid to use them. If Alford wants to match up against bigger lineups, he has height, talent, and length to choose from. Though they need a point guard to run the offense, aside from 6-3 Hands, everyone else is 6-8 or taller.
