The #8 wide receiver in the nation, Chase Cota, named his Top 7 schools and the UCLA Football team made the cut and is in some elite company.

One of the top receivers in the nation cut his list to seven and the UCLA Football team has made the cut. 4-star WR Chase Cota (South Medford HS/Medford, OR) has the Bruins in his Top 7 along with USC, Cal, Alabama, Georgia, Oregon and Notre Dame.

The 6’4″, 195 lbs. Costa is the top receiver (per Scout.com) in Oregon and has garnered a lot of attention from several schools, but only seven remain.

Currently, the Bruins have only one wide receiver committed to the 2018 class as 4-star Kyle Phillips gave his pledge back in April.

If Costa was to commit to UCLA, that would be a huge statement and help propel the Bruins’ recruiting efforts with receivers, something that has been a bit stagnant in recent years. Still, the Bruins have picked up some steam in the last month as they have picked up five commitments since the beginning of June.

Costa is presumed to be leaning towards Oregon, but if UCLA can show that their latest offense can be effective and he can flourish in Jedd Fisch’s system, maybe they have a chance, but we will know more when he takes his official visits later in the year.

Along with Costa, the Bruins also have a few other big name receiver targets in their sights for 2018 which include Amon-Ra St. Brown, Tommy Bush, Jalen Hall and Soloman Enis.
