The UCLA Football team received commitments from two offensive linemen in the last three days, bringing the total to six for 2018.

Double BOOM! After a year in which recruiting was not up to par, especially along the offensive line, the coaches of the UCLA Football team have been putting in the work to try to restock the cupboard for 2018.

That has changed in the last three days as the Bruins have landed commitments from 3-star OG Marco Brewer and 3-star center Trey Stratford.

The 6’4″, 291 lbs. Brewer (Corvallis HS/Corvallis, OR) is the #1 guard in the state of Oregon. He is the second guard to commit to the Bruins after Blake McDonald committed in April.

Brewer has a lot of raw talent but can develop into an effective guard.  He has good upper body strength, decent footwork and can get out into the open to help create lanes.

The 6’4″, 269 lbs. Stratford (Allen HS/Allen, TX) is the first center to commit to the Bruins for 2018. Stratford is the #2 center in Texas, and overall #6 at his position according to Scout.com.

Stratford has experience playing both center and tackle, though should be called upon to play the former position at UCLA. Either way, he is a physical player that can push around defenders and gets results.

He has great upper body strength and has excellent blocking technique. Stratford is also fairly quick for his size and projects to be an effective line player at the next level.

WIth two more O-linemen, UCLA has done a good job filling depth with a group that has been a weak point for the Bruin offense recently. Hopefully that continues in the next few seasons.
