Go Joe Bruin and MarkRogersTV continue their position breakdown of the UCLA Football team as they turn their attention to the running backs and how they look going into the 2017 season.

The UCLA Football team was not good at running the ball last season and it was not for a lack of effort. Heck, it was not even because they lack talent at the position.

Last season, a lot of things did not click on the offensive side of the ball which led to the offense a stalling for most of the year. The running game was a huge issue as they were one of the worst in the FBS in yards per game.

Coaching, schemes, offensive line, misuse of the backs and an awkward rotation kept the running backs in neutral with little chance of kicking it into high gear.

This upcoming season, that looks to change with an entirely new offensive coaching staff as well as a new philosophy. Jedd Fisch takes over as Offensive Coordinator and with the help of new Running Backs Coach DeShaun Foster, the Bruins will do everything they can to try and figure out how to run the ball next season.

Mark Rogers and I talk about how they will try to go about it with Soso Jamabo, Nate Starks and Bolu Olorunfunmi leading the way. The Bruins also have sophomores-to-be Brandon Stephens and Jalen Starks in their arsenal, which bodes well for the future.
