After leading the UCLA Basketball team in two second half surges against the Oregon schools, Lonzo Ball received Pac-12 Player of the Week honors.

This guy can do it all. UCLA Basketball‘s freshman phenom Lonzo Ball has been named Pac-12 Player of the Week for the second time this season.

After helping to lift the Bruins from a 19-point deficit over Oregon last Thursday and orchestrating an incredible run in the second half against Oregon State, Lonzo Ball was able to put up 18.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists in those two games. Against Oregon State, Ball had nine assists (with an uncharacteristic one assist against Oregon).

Though the Bruins had a lackadaisical start in both contests, Ball was a key factor to their victories.

Against Oregon, Ball hit a huge step back three which extended the Bruins’ lead late in the game. Against Oregon State, Ball was an assist machine as he was able to get his team together to blow out the Beavers.

On top of that, Ball has improved his defense, much like how his team as a whole has been doing, which is going to be beneficial to them as they head into the end of the regular season and start postseason play.

UCLA has some momentum in their favor after four straight wins to start the second half of Pac-12 play. Before that stretch, UCLA was on a two-game losing streak with bad losses to Arizona and USC.
