UCLA Basketball: Lonzo Ball is the Pac-12 Player of the Week

After leading the UCLA Basketball team to a 7-0 start, a #11 ranking and a Wooden Legacy Championship, freshman Lonzo Ball is the Pac-12 Player of the Week.

UCLA Basketball fans knew just how special freshman point guard Lonzo Ball would be and now the college basketball world knows! At the very least, the Pac-12 does.

Today, Ball was named Pac-12 Player of the Week by the conference of champions for his contributions to the UCLA Basketball team in the past week. He led the Bruins to three straight victories over Portland, Nebraska and Texas A&M to claim the Wooden Legacy championship over the Thanksgiving Holiday.

The zenith of his accomplishments came at the conclusion of the tournament when Ball was named tournament MVP. In the tournament he averaged 15.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 9.3 assists, 1.0 steal and 1.3 blocks.

Even against Texas A&M, which was considered a bad game for him, he managed to colect 16 points, 10 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 blocks. If that is a bad game, imagine what he can do in a good one.
