The UCLA Football team is dependent on the kicker J.J. Molson to keep them in the game against Texas A&M.

At halftime, the UCLA Football team trails the Texas A&M Aggies, 10-9 in a half where both teams needed a quarter to get things going.

The Bruins had a hard time getting both of their run and passing game going in the first quarter as the offensive line struggled to contain the Aggies.

Texas A&M’s defensive line was tenacious and pressured QB Josh Rosen who made several errant passes, including a ball thrown up in the first quarter to avoid a sack which was intercepted. Rosen was chased out of the pocket several times and was forced to throw the ball away on, multiple occasions.

The run game was not solid either. In the first quarter, Soso Jamabo, who ran the ball the majority of the time, had nine yards in seven carries, getting tackled behind the line three times.

The only bright spot was for UCLA got was freshman J.J. Molson who converted three field goals in the half.

Things improved in the second quarter as the Bruins continued to try and establish the run. Bolu Olorunfunmi had a great run to get the Bruins in the redzone on a 32-yard run. Unfortuantely, the Bruins could not convert and settled for another field goal.

Texas A&M also looked much improved in the second. Just after the second Bruin field goal, the Aggies had a balanced attack that got them a touchdown from Keith Ford who ran the ball into the end zone relatively unscathed for a 7-6 lead.

The Bruins got the ball back and had another good drive, but once again stalled in the red zone and depended on Molson for a third time as the Bruins went up 9-7.

Texas A&M continued their barrage on their last drive of the half, but UCLA was able to stop them for a field goal, going up 10-9. Molson tried to put UCLA up with seven seconds left, but missed a 48-yarder wide right.
