UCLA Football Head Coach Jim Mora talked to the media on Monday and gave a few updates on injures and talked about shifting to game planning for Texas A&M.

UCLA Football Head Coach Jim Mora had a brief meeting with the media after practice on Monday. With the Bruins starting their season on Saturday, Mora noted that Monday’s practice was completely focused on Texas A&M.

Fall camp is over and it is now time to get into the game planning as they will travel to College Station, TX to face the Aggies this weekend in what should be a very hot afternoon in an epic Pac-12/SEC showdown..

When asked about preparing for the Aggie’s defensive, specifically DE Myles Garrett, Mora said that the Bruins have a number of players taking on the task of emulating one of the best defensive ends in the nation.

Part of the coaches plan to prep the offensive line was to have the scout team cheat up a bit on the line and snap counts to simulate that “edge” that Garrett will bring. Mora also praised their entire defense who boasts on of the more ferocious fronts the Bruins will see this season..

Mora then talked about who Conor McDermott will be a huge factor in this game, especially if he has to lineup across from Garrett. Returning for his final year, McDermott will be crucial to the success of the offensive line and the offense as a whole.

Injuries

Deon Hollins and Cameron Griffin are still suffering from concussion like symptoms. Mora would not rule them out to play against Texas A& Lak but seems doubtful.

Paco Perez‘s injury is taking long than expected to heal and is still not practicing.

Mique Juarez (not injured) is still on an excused absence and is not expected to play on Saturday.

"He’s very mature, calm, an excellent leader. The players really respect him.”– Coach Mora on Conor McDermotthttps://t.co/f1qSd9qaYj— UCLA Football (@UCLAFootball) August 29, 2016"
