Yesterday, the UCLA Basketball team offer a scholarship to 2018 3-star small forward Timmy Allen, another member of the AAU team, the Compton Magic, which Head Coach Steve Alford has strong ties with.

UCLA Basketball Head Coach Steve Alford is using his recruiting connections to lure another prospect that has been gaining more and more exposure in recent months.

Yesterday, the Bruins offered 6’5″, 205 lbs. 2018 3-star SF Timmy Allen (Desert Ridge HS/Mesa) for the class of 2018.

Allen is currently part of the AAU team, the Compton Magic, which Alford has created a pipeline with in recent years.

At the present time, Allen has offers from Arizona State, Creighton, Grand Canyon University, Nebraska, New Mexico State, Portland State and USC.

He is the 15th player in the 2018 class to receive an offer from UCLA. So far the Bruins only have one commitment in 2018: 5’10”, 125 lbs. Lamelo Ball. He is the younger brother of Lonzo Ball, the 5-star point guard who will be joining UCLA basketball this fall.

Allen is quite an athletic specimen that has tremendous upside. He is explosive going to the rim, is very quick with the ball and has a lot of potential to his game.

Allen is going to take his time with his decision as he has two years until he heads to college, so right now he has a simple plan going forward. Allen told Richard Obert of AZ Central Sports, “My goal for the rest of the summer is just to get better as a player all-around and improve as a leader on the floor.”
