Go Joe Bruin would like to pay tribute to Steven Manfro, running back for the UCLA Football team, as he is forced to retire due to injury.

Cult hero, work horse and UCLA Football fan favorite Steven Manfro has been forced to retire. It is a sad day in Westwood.

This past Monday, Head Coach Jim Mora met with reporters after practice and talked about a few Bruins that are in the recovery process and a few that have recently suffered injuries. Mora was hesitant to reveal information when it came to Manfro who suffered a shoulder injury during practice. It was his second in two seasons.

On Tuesday, news had been made official: Steven Manfro has official retired from football due to injury.

This fall, Manfro would have entered his sixth season with the Bruins as a back up running back. Unfortunately, Manfro can do no more for UCLA as he ends his career with 172 rushing yards, 3 rushing touchdowns, 396 receiving yards, 2 receiving touchdowns, 132 punt return yards and 622 kick return yards.
