In Episode 80 of the What’s Bruin Show, we give props to the UCLA Football team and their efforts against Oregon State and then look ahead to what the Bruins need to do against Washington State and their air raid offense.

In this latest episode, hosts

Bill Shirley

,

Jake Merrifield

and I get giddy over

UCLA’s

41-0 shut out of

Oregon State

(especially me who was excited for the Bruins to get “at least” a shut out).

The offense was great behind Josh Rosen‘s 333 passing yards, the run game was kicking behind Paul Perkins and Soso Jamabo, the offensive line was stout and the receivers (all 12 of them) were phenomenal in this game.

But let us not forget the defense which got the shut out against a very poor Oregon State team. Takkarist McKinley (or should we say “Sakkarist”?) was excellent in the pass rush, Jayon Brown was solid in the linebacking corp and how about that secondary getting three interceptions in the game from Randall Goforth, Jaleel Wadood and John Johnson?

We are very excited about this victory, but we are slightly worried about the Game That Will Be against Washington State and their potent air raid offense.

Cougar coach Mike Leach finally has the players he needs for his system and it has all come together for a second-place standing in the North Division behind Stanford.

Things are getting very real for UCLA Football.
