Redshirt sophomore punter Adam Searl was arrested Thursday on three counts of rape and has been indefinitely suspended from the UCLA Football team.

It was reported today that walk-on punter Adam Searl has been arrested on 3 counts of rape stemming from an incident in 2014. Searl was arrested yesterday and released on bail from the Los Angeles Police Department.

UCLA released a statement about Searl and subsequently suspended him indefinitely.

CBS Los Angeles reported that Searl had met the victim outside of a party off-campus on October 19, 2014. As they reported, “Searl had allegedly accompanied the woman to a nearby residence where she fell asleep and she awoke to find him sexually assaulting her.”

Due to the police investigation, UCLA has no further comment at this time.

This is the second arrest for the UCLA football team as DB Ishmael Adams was arrested the week of the season opener for apparently trying to steal a phone from an Uber driver in the early morning hours.
