In Episode 64 of the What’s Bruin Show, hosts Bill Shirley, Jake Merrifield and I welcome LA Sports Hub writer Jamaal Artis to talk about P. Diddy. We did not want to, but we think it warranted some attention.

Why?

Well if you did not know, this past Monday, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs assaulted UCLA football strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi and was arrested and now faces felony charges. We talk about what allegedly happened, what the legal ramifications are and what this means for the Bruin football team going forward, especially P. Diddy’s son, junior defensive back Justin Combs, who was at the center of all of this. We even talk to Go Joe Bruin writer Michael Hanna who gives us his legal perspective on all of this (he also talks about recruiting stuff).

We do take a bit of time analyzing the situation, but fear not, we talk about other important issues with UCLA.

First off, Adrian Klemm is back!!! The Bruin offensive line coach has been reinstated by UCLA (while the NCAA investigation continues) and we talk about how it important this is. We then get into the Bruin’s future non-conference schedules and try to decide which marquee away games we will be going to in the next decade.

We also have a little bit of UCLA basketball talk as Bruin 7’0″ center Thomas Welsh has made the cut for the U19 USA Basketball Team. We then talk about both Norman Powell and Kevon Looney as they hope to have their names called in this week’s NBA Draft.

Speaking of the NBA Draft, we get into that in the ‘LA Sports Express’. Other topics we cover are the LA Clippers atrocious logo and the USWNT dominance so far in the World Cup.
